SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -

Nancy VanderMeer will once again appear on the November ballot as the republican candidate for Wisconsin's 70th Assembly District. She'll face off against incumbent Rep. Amy Sue Vruwink.

VanderMeer announced her candidacy on Friday. She runs a family business and believes economic development should be the state's top issue, especially through technical training programs. "I was involved in a pilot program in the Tomah School district; it was a school to work program, I think we need opportunities like that, more opportunities for training so that we can have sustainable wages for the people throughout the 70th district," said VanderMeer.

Rep. Vruwink won by about 170 votes in 2012. She's held the seat since 2002.
