Some prominent local names are backing the newest candidate challenging Ron Kind this fall.
Republican Tony Kurtz announced his candidacy for Wisconsin's third congressional district Wednesday.
Kurtz already has endorsements from Dan Kapanke and Colonel Ray Boland.
Kurtz is a small business owner from Prairie du Chien who served in the military for 20 years as a helicopter pilot. He's also started his own farm.
Kurtz says his priorities are creating a better climate for small business, replacing the Affordable Care Act, and cutting the deficit. "I'm going to get out and meet each and every voter, look them in the eye and say, you know what, there is a difference, there's somebody who's going to listen to you, someone that's going to work for you and take your concerns to Washington, D.C. to stop the career politicians and let's get some things done."
Kurtz is the fourth republican to announce his candidacy.
