Former Tomah Police Chief Wes Revels and Monroe County Sheriff Sergeant Scott Perkins both want to be the next Monroe County Sheriff.
They met for a debate Tuesday at the Ground Round in Tomah. Popular topics included the future transition into the Justice Center, the increase in drug activity, and maintaining a balanced budget.
"I was an administrator at a police department for five years, was responsible for the budgeting, the personnel decisions, the accountability decisions, assisting with the labor negotiations,” Revels said.
"We have a lot of the same philosophies. Wes does have a lot more administrative experience than I do, I admit that. But I believe I have a lot more operational experience than Wes does,” said Perkins.
The winner of the race will replace outgoing Sheriff Pete Quirin who is not running. Quirin has endorsed Wes Revels.
