New campaign finance reports show state schools Superintendent Tony Evers has spent nearly $210,000 on his re-election bid this year.
Evers faces state Rep. Don Pridemore, a Hartford Republican, in an April 2 election. The candidates have until midnight Monday to file with the state Government Accountability Board listing contributions and spending from the beginning of the year through March 18.
Evers reported spending about $209,700 over the period. Most of the spending -- $186,700 -- took place during the days between Feb. 5 and March 18. He had $42,850 on hand.
Pridemore's campaign hadn't filed his reports as of late morning Monday. His latest report on file shows he spent about $19,000 between Jan. 1 and Feb. 4. He raised $2,400 and had $33,400 on hand.
