La Crosse Mayoral candidates debate
Tim Kabat and Doug Farmer are hoping to sway voters that they will be the best leader for La Crosse.
The mayoral candidates met in their first debate Thursday night since winning the primary.
They fielded a variety of questions with topics ranging from city safety and the north-south corridor, to frac sand regulations.
The big issue that kept coming up was how to revitalize our struggling neighborhoods. "Make funds available to rehabilitate these houses, then we need to preserve what we have and that includes good code enforcement and also enforcing the quality of life crimes," said Farmer.
"Work with our neighborhood associations, our non-profits, our large institutions like Gundersen Lutheran and others to build more housing and upgrade our housing stock in our neighborhoods," said Kabat.
The election is set for April 2nd.
