Spring break starts today for Minnesota's House and Senate.
The state Legislature typically takes the week off leading up to Easter Sunday. It's a chance for lawmakers to spend time back in their districts.
Both Democrats and Republican leaders are using the break to travel the state talking about the budget . House Speaker Paul Thissen and House DFLers are talking about their education spending proposals Monday at a North St. Paul elementary school.
Gov. Mark Dayton and members of his Cabinet are also touting budget proposals at public meetings this week. Dayton holds a town hall Monday night in Moorhead and Tuesday in St. Cloud. Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius is holding a roundtable in Marshall while Human Services Commissioner Lucinda Jesson is in Winona.
