St. Paul's mayor is ready to declare his political intentions as his second term winds down.
Democrat Chris Coleman scheduled an announcement Wednesday. All signs point to another re-election bid. He has been holding campaign fundraisers and using speeches to project longer-term goals.
Coleman was first elected in 2005 and won a new term in 2009. He opted against a run for governor in 2010 after giving it considerable thought.
There has been far less jockeying in St. Paul to replace Coleman as there has been in Minneapolis, where there's a wide-open race. Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is stepping down after three terms.
