MADISON, Wis. -

More than 412,000 Wisconsin voters have requested absentee ballots so far, according to the Government Accountability Board.

The state elections board said more than 256,000 of those ballots were requested by people in clerk's offices during the early voting period, which began last week and ends Friday.

The Government Accountability Board said it does not have comparable pre-election numbers from four years ago are not available. Clerks are not required to report absentee ballot numbers until after the election.
