Eau Claire police identify driver

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -

Eau Claire police have identified the driver involved in a hit and run that injured a pedestrian.

The Eau Claire Police Department’s Patrol Division, Crime Scene Unit and Crash Reconstruction Team have led to the identification of both the vehicle and the driver of the hit and run. The driver’s name has not been released yet.

On May 3, police responded to a hit and run around 9:00 p.m. on the 2600 block of Seymour Road.  Police say the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation. The driver of the vehicle drove off without reporting the incident.

The pedestrian, Zachary A. Kerska, was transported to Mayo Hospital with severe injuries and remains in the Critical Care Unit.    

Authorities say they are unable to release any further information without jeopardizing the investigation.
