People living with Parkinson's and their family members gathered in La Crosse for the third annual Parkinson's Symposium.
Attendees met at the Lunda Center on the Western Technical College campus to learn about the latest developments in Parkinson research. Gundersen health system provided information on alternative medication and new resources available for patients living with the disease.
The symposium not only gave patients a better understanding of the disease, but hope as well.
"Information is key to living well with Parkinson's disease," said Jason Aldred, a Neurologist with Gundersen Health System. This is a progressive neuron-degenerative disorder, we don't have a cure yet, so learning about the options knowing that there is hope is key," said Jason Aldred, a Neurologist from Gundersen Health System.
Gundersen Health System will also be hosting Polka for Parkinson's in October to raise money for Parkinson's research.
