Middle school students are rewarded for their work this quarter.

Longfellow Middle School hosted its first-ever paper fashion show. Students used half a ton of newspaper and 1,600 feet of masking tape to make their costumes.

The event is part of the school's effort to congratulate its students for good behavior in the first quarter of school.

It also helps show the La Crosse scommunity what Longfellow offers its kids. "The culture of the school is what it's all about. If Longfellow Middle or LDI is where you want to go to, that you feel safe, that you feel included and a place that you have fun and learn, I can think of no better place," said principal Penny Reedy.

School staff members judged the kids' costumes during the fashion show. This is the first of four events throughout the school year to celebrate good behavior by students.
