ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) -

Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen signed a proclamation Wednesday night to recognize and proclaim the last week of September each year as "Pause Week" in the City of Onalaska.

The proclamation was inspired by the Onalaska Hilltopper Rotary Club’s The Pause Project and its local-produced movie, “Pause” on the dangers and consequences of teen drunk driving.

The movie premiered in mid-May to audiences in the La Crosse area and encouraged people to pause and think before they get behind the wheel of a vehicle after they’ve been drinking.

Co-creator of The Pause Project Scott Davies, “Pause” director and editor Steve Londre, Onalaska Fire Lieutenant Corey Yankovich and Bill Kult, a member of the Onalaska Fire Department were recognized in the proclamation.

The production team is currently working on the movie’s distribution and are preparing DVD copies of the movie for the public to purchase.
