1949: Joe Theismann, best known for his 12 seasons playing in the NFL with Washington, where he was a two-time Pro Bowler and quarterback of the winning team in Super Bowl XVII, is born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Theismann, who played collegiately for Notre Dame, was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.
