1975: Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme attempts to assassinate U.S. President Gerald Ford in Sacramento, California. Originally sentenced to life in prison for the attempt, she was paroled from a Texas prison hospital on Aug. 14, 2009, after more than three decades behind bars.
