1987: The comedy "The Princess Bride," starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Andre the Giant, Chris Sarandon, Peter Falk and Fred Savage and directed by Rob Reiner, premieres in theaters. The movie, which combines comedy, adventure, romance and fantasy, was initially a modest success but grew into a cult classic.
