1924: Actress Lauren Bacall, who made her film debut opposite her future husband Humphrey Bogart in 1944's "To Have and Have Not," is born Betty Joan Perske in The Bronx, N.Y. Bacall went on to star alongside Bogart in "The Big Sleep," "Dark Passage" and "Key Largo," and also starred in movies such as "How to Marry a Millionaire" and "Designing Woman." She also earned Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for her role in 1996's "The Mirror Has Two Faces."
