1995: Tennis player Bobby Riggs, who was the world's top professional player in 1946-47 and gained more fame for his 1973 "Battle of the Sexes" tennis matches against top female players Margaret Court and Billie Jean King, dies of prostate cancer at the age of 77 in Encinitas, Calif.
