1948: Singer-songwriter Glenn Frey, best known as a founding member of The Eagles and for his solo work, is born in Detroit, Michigan. He died on Jan. 18, 2016, at age 67 in New York City from complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from gastrointestinal tract surgery.
