1967: Singer LaVerne Andrews (top), a member of the singing Andrews Sisters trio, dies of cancer at age 55 in Los Angeles, California. The Andrews Sisters, which also included her sisters Patty (middle) and Maxene (bottom), were best known for their 1941 hit "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." They recorded more than 400 songs and sold over 80 million records until breaking up after LaVerne's death.
