2011: Baseball Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew, who played most of his 22-year career for the Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins, dies of esophageal cancer at the age of 74 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Killebrew was one of the American League's most feared power hitters of the 1960s, hitting 40 home runs in a season eight times. A 13-time All-Star and six-time AL home run champion, he was second only to Babe Ruth in AL home runs and was the AL career leader in home runs by a right-handed batter when he retired in 1975 with 573 career homers.
