1973: Rock singer-songwriter and musician Josh Homme, best known as the frontman for the hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age, is born in Joshua Tree, California. Homme has also been a member of the bands Eagles of Death Metal, Kyuss and Them Crooked Vultures, the last with Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones.
