Vikings sack Paris, the Hollywood Walk of Fame gets its first star, President Eisenhower dies, and Three Mile Island melts down, all on this day.
1960: The first permanent star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, director Stanley Kramer's, is completed on the easternmost end of the new Walk near the intersection of Hollywood and Gower.
