1962: Singer-songwriter Terence Trent D'Arby is born Terence Trent Howard in Manhattan, New York. D'Arby rose to fame in 1987 with his debut solo album "Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby," which included the singles "Wishing Well" and "Sign Your Name." He legally changed his name to Sananda Maitreya in 2001.
