1932: Actor Pat Morita, best known for playing Mr. Miyagi in "The Karate Kid" movies, is born Noriyuki Morita in Isleton, California. Morita, who earned an Academy Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor for 1984's "The Karate Kid," was also known for the role of Matsuo "Arnold" Takahashi on the sitcom "Happy Days." He died of kidney failure at age 73 on Nov. 24, 2005.
