1877: Crazy Horse and his warriors fight their last battle against the United States Cavalry at Wolf Mountain, Montana Territory. Following the battle, which ended in a draw, Crazy Horse's Oglala Lakota people would struggle through the winter, weakened by hunger and the long cold. In the spring, Crazy Horse decided to surrender with his band to protect them, and went to Fort Robinson in Nebraska.
