1979: Actress, screenwriter and director Sarah Polley, best known for her roles in movies such as "Dawn of the Dead," "Go" and "John Adams," is born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her directorial debut, 2006's "Away from Her," earned her a Genie Award for Best Achievement in Direction and an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
