1923: Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Hank Stram, best known for his 15-year tenure with the Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs of the AFL and NFL, is born in Chicago, Ill. Stram won three AFL Championships (more than any other coach in the league's history) and Super Bowl IV with the Chiefs. He died from complications due to diabetes at the age of 82 on July 4, 2005.
