2009: North Korean leader Kim Jong-il pardons two American journalists, Euna Lee (right) and Laura Ling (left, at microphone), who had been arrested and imprisoned for illegal entry into the country earlier in the year. The move came a day after former U.S. President Bill Clinton had arrived in North Korea on a publicly unannounced visit seeking their release.
