2016: UConn wins an unprecedented fourth straight NCAA women's basketball championship, beating Syracuse 82-51. The victory also extended the team's winning streak to 75. With the victory, UConn coach Geno Auriemma won his 11th championship, moving him past coaching legend John Wooden for the most in college basketball history. The previous record for consecutive women's titles was three, held both by UConn (2002-04) and Tennessee (1996-98). In winning the four titles, the Connecticut seniors went 24-0 in their four tournaments runs.
