1945: Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton, who compiled 324 wins and 3,574 strikeouts in a 23-year MLB career, is born in Clio, Alabama. Sutton played most of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and also played for the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics and California Angels.
