The Oktoberfest Board of Directors is asking people searching for this year’s medallion to be more respectful of city property. The hunt began on Monday.
City of La Crosse officials contacted the Oktoberfest Office with concerns that medallion hunters were causing difficulties in Riverside Park, especially within the International Gardens on the north side of the park.
“Some hunters, through their ‘enthusiasm,’ have not left the park and gardens as they found them,” said Oktoberfest Board of Directors Secretary Kevin Buelow.
Medallion hunters are reminded that they should respect the property (public or private) where they are searching and that “it is only via their cooperation that this and fun endeavor can continue,” Buelow said.
