LA CROSSE, WI (WKBT) -

La Crosse’s City Hall is working to improve its sound quality during public meetings.

City officials say the poor quality of sound from the speakers inside the chamber is making it difficult for the public to hear what officials are saying during committee meetings.

The plan is to replace the entire sound system. Mayor Tim Kabat says it’s a necessity.

“We do need to get that fixed to basically make sure we are having an open meeting, so people are able to participate in the audience,” he said.

The city has not released a cost estimate for the project.
