La Crosse's Arts Board is still trying to figure out what to do with a deteriorating sculpture.
The Scroll sculpture can be seen at the corner of La Crosse and Third street. The lights do not work, water no longer runs through it, and plaques have been falling off.
Arts Board Committee members started digging into the topic last month. They are trying to figure out whether to move or repurpose the sculpture.
Right now, there are seven new locations being discussed, including a clear frontrunner. "Near a library, you'd have the university or city library, but again, it's about early form writing and how early form writing has progressed to if you will, current writing, late form writing," said the Chair of the La Crosse Arts Board Donald Smith.
A recommendation is expected to be made for the city council at next month's meeting.
