Black Bean and Rice Burgers

Shopping list:
1 can (15 oz.) black beans
Whole wheat hamburger buns

Makes 4 patties

1 can (15 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup cooked brown rice
¼ cup onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. salsa
4 whole wheat hamburger buns

In a mixing bowl, mash beans and then combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and preheat over medium-high heat. Spoon bean mixture by ½ cup into skillet; flatten to ½-inch thick. Cook 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until light brown and heated through. Serve on whole wheat hamburger buns.
