La Crosse's new Northside Elementary School is bringing more than another source of education to the community.
The new building requires a need for many contracting services, all of which have come directly from the La Crosse area. Close to 20 local businesses are all working together to get the school up and running before this fall.
Businesses like La Crosse Glass and Overhead Door say that projects like the new school building increase production and allow the company to hire more workers.
"We take pride, and it's a community project, and we're happy to see the number of local contractors that are involved. These are local tax dollars that are going to local contractors that in turn are investments in the future of the school district," said Tony Keller the project manager.
Northside Elementary is set to be completed by August 15, just in time the start of school in the fall.
