LA CROSSE, WI -

More than 70 bikes were stolen from UW-La Crosse's campus last year. Campus police  hope an online bike registry will help decrease that number.

The online program will help police keep track of stolen bikes.

Students can now register their bike online with the campus police department.

Campus police hope the program will help recover and return stolen bikes to their rightful owners. "We recover quite a few bikes and unfortunately because people don't register their bikes, we are unable to get them back to their owners. Part of the program allows the students to go online on our website  and register their bikes," said UW-L Police Officer David Pehl.
