LA CROSSE, Wis. -

As the La Crosse Loggers staff has been working to get the field ready for the season, they've found a little surprise behind the rain tarp.

A mama duck is guarding her nest filled with about a dozen eggs along the first base line.

The team's general manager said she's probably been nesting there all winter.

They're hoping the eggs will hatch soon so they won't be in any danger during high school games or when the Loggers start playing June 2nd.
