It's hard not to appreciate our area's local food vendors – and now the nation is joining in on that appreciation.
Sunday marked the start of National Farmer's Market Week, a time for the USDA to celebrate community farmers.
Our area is no stranger to farmer's markets. Local farmer Bill Miller hosts farmers markets every week, and has been for ten years. Although he says the markets are growing in size and now have the ability to start earlier, this year saw a slow start.
"We had poor crops, this cold weather, I think, slowed us down somewhat ,” he said. “[But] it's improved; the last week or two has really picked up."
Bill runs three farmer's markets a week. He says he'll continue to sell until the end of October.
