TOWNSHIP OF GREENFIELD, Wis. (WKBT) -

A two vehicle accident involving a school bus resulted in multiple injuries early Wednesday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff stated the accident occured on Hwy 21 near County Hwy M in the Township of Greenfield.

The school bus was stopped in the eastbound lane with its red lights on and the stop sign out loading children, when a vehicle driven by Corrin N. Jorgensen, age 18 of rural Tomah, struck the back of the bus.

The 1999 Buick went underneath the bus and she had to be extricated by the Jaws of Life. She was transported to Tomah Memorial Hospital by Tomah Area Ambulance Service with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus, Lori Crouch was injured in the crash. Crouch and 14 students on the bus where taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries and released.

There were 19 other students also taken to the hospital to be checked out for safety reasons.

The incident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department
