A big change is on its way to a historic downtown La Crosse building.
The former Ross Furniture store is slated to become the Charmant Hotel at the end of 2014.
Don Weber, a La Crosse business leader, bought the building for 1.5 million dollars. He's working with a hotel group on a 23 million dollar renovation to create the first luxury boutique hotel in the area.
Charmant means charming in French and also references a chocolate line sold at Funke Candy Company, a business there before Ross Furniture.
The building will also have a restaurant, rooftop bar, and meeting space.
