A Melrose-Mindoro senior is hoping to be the best in the nation at bringing a tractor back to life.
Riley Hanson has been restoring a 1953 Farmall Super H. It's hard to picture the tractor 8 months ago when it was rundown and after sitting in a shed for 15 years.
Hanson is in a competition through F.F.A. and Delo Tractor where he is one of 12 national finalists. This is Riley's second year as a finalist.
He's the only kid from Wisconsin to make it this far, and as you can imagine, it took a lot of work. "I've got 680 hours into this tractor alone and $6800 into it. I've had every single bolt out of this tractor and replaced every worn part and made it new again," said Hanson.
If you want to learn more about Riley's project or vote for his tractor to win, head to delotrcvoting.com. Voting ends at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 25th.
