ONALASKA, WI -

Running form the cops is something that will usually land you in jail.

But hundreds of runners did just that, all while raising money for a good cause.

People met Oct. 15 at the Onalaska Police Department for the fourth annual 'Run From the Cops 5k run or walk'.

The police department puts on the run to help support local programs in the area.

Police say the best part of the event is meeting the community.

"It's really fun, we get to see the same people come back over and over again and get to see new faces every year and that's the best part," says Onalaska Police Officer Lisa Gerbig.

A majority of this year's proceeds will go to benefit the Santa's List Program and the Coulee Region Children's Internet Protection Task Force.
