When parents have a child in the neonatal intensive care unit, every little bit of help goes a long way.
An organization called Sophia's Saving Grace tries to give as much help as they can. Saturday the group made lockets and cards for moms who have kids in the NICU, to give to them on Mother's Day.
The group's founder, Karla Dummer, spent six months in the NICU with her daughter and wanted to start a group that would help other parents. She also wanted to have a group where kids could participate, because sometimes it's difficult to find an organization where kids can give back.
"We're trying to be that organization where kids can come and kids can see what it is to give back and start that early," said Dummer, "so hopefully when they're adults they'll continue to give to others."
This is one of several fundraisers Sophia's Saving Grace holds throughout the year.
