Local Republican Party officials are working hard to get new members and they say their effort is nothing new.
It may be getting more focus because it's an off election year.
The La Crosse County Republican Party chair says opponents have painted them as unwelcoming and now they need to change that perception.
He says the best way to do that is for people to get involved. "I've often said that the only candidate I've ever agreed with 100% was myself when I ran, and I think a lot of people will find that, it's okay to not agree with 100% and the only way to change that is by getting involved," said Julian Bradley.
Bradley hopes having a permanent headquarters in the city will help with voter outreach.
