Local bridal shop taking part in Operation Wedding Gown
Military brides-to-be can once again get there hands on the perfect dress for free.
On Wednesday, Charlotte's Bridal in La Crosse is participating in Operation Wedding Gown. It's part of the Brides Across America Program, a nationwide non-profit helping brides have their dream wedding.
Charlotte's Bridal has given away more than 100 dresses with the program, and one of the co-owners says it's the least they can do for people who put themselves in harm's way. "This is the one way that Jennifer and I feel is giving a little bit of thank you to them, because we appreciate everything they do," said Charlotte's Bridal Co-Owner Kathy Walker.
To qualify, brides or their fiancés must be on active duty and deployed in the past five years, or scheduled to deploy to various countries in the Middle East, Korea or Japan.
Deployment papers must be presented to get a dress.
Brides need to pre-register at bridesacrossamerica.com, and will be helped on a first come first serve basis at the store.
