Hundreds of drivers were treated to free gasoline Wednesday.
Coulee Bank in La Crosse gave away $4,000 in free gas.
Bank employees even handled the pumps as drivers lined up down the block to fill their tank.
It was part of a nationwide push called "Take Back Your Banking" to raise awareness about community banks and credit unions. "We're educating the people about the fact that we are a local business, the money that you deposit with your local community stays local and gets returned back in the form of a loan to help a local business as well," said Coulee Bank President and CEO Brad Sturm.
Nationwide, the "Take Back Your Banking" campaign gave away $150,000 in free gas.
