With these cold temps, the warming center in La Crosse is staying full.
The center at First Baptist Church has been full 19 of the past 21 nights.
It can hold just 15 people and they turn away people every night. So far, 41 people have been turned away in the past four weeks.
The warming center is doing something special for the holiday. They are giving a small gift to guests for Christmas and they have a special dinner Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
"The response from the community is just overwhelming, we're very blessed to live in such a giving community that really sees needs and then goes out of their way to meet those needs,” said warming center coordinator Mary Fitzpatrick
The center is staffed by volunteers and is open from November until March.
