As you start taking down your holiday decorations, like a Christmas Tree, the city asks you do it properly.
In La Crosse, tree pick up is scheduled to start next week Thursday.
Similar to leaf pick up, city crews will start at the north side of town and work their way south. They plan to make a couple of passes.
To make sure the tree gets taken away, do not put it in a bag and make sure it's in the proper place. "Generally we require that all, any kind of wrapping or ornaments, or tinsel be taken off the tree, then the tree has to be placed on the boulevard, not in the alley by your trash, but actually on the boulevards is where we pick them up," said Asst. Street Superintendent Andy Bakalars.
You can dispose of it on your own by taking it to the site on Isle la Plume between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
