One La Crosse restaurant shared its Christmas dinner with the community Wednesday.
Fiesta Mexicana on the city's south side offered burritos, tacos and enchiladas, all free of charge. Servers donated their time all afternoon to provide the free meal.
Fiesta's owner says it's his way of saying thank you to La Crosse.
"We like to give something back to our community. We love our community,” said Enrique Valera. “They're helping us to survive here, to make it here, so we want to thank [them].”
Dozens of people showed up at the meal, which included free toys for the kids, and a visit from Santa.
One visitor has been attending Fiesta's Christmas dinner for the past decade. Jerry Jorgensen says it's his home away from home every holiday season.
"The atmosphere here is very friendly,” said Jorgensen. “When I come here, I feel like I'm at home, and the people here are just like family, and they make you feel that way."
Perkins Restaurant donated the desserts for Fiesta's holiday meal.
