LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

One of two people accused in an armed robbery on La Crosse's south side appeared in court Tuesday.

James Green, 23, was charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm.

Police say green and a 15-year-old boy forced their way into an apartment on the 1100 block of 9th street earlier this month. Two women and two children that were inside at the time, locked themselves in a bathroom and called 911.

Green and the teenager were arrested leaving the apartment.

Police say they were able to find evidence of a robbery after the arrest. "Inside the apartment, the two suspects had left behind several items of their clothing, a black Friday the 13th-type mask, and a loaded .357 revolver handgun," said La Crosse Police Lieutenant Matt Mallot.

Green is expected back in court for arraignment Friday.
